How to claim a profile
Claiming a profile is a relatively straightforward process. You just need an active subscription, and access to the domain that you want to claim DNS configuration.
In this article we’re going to explain to you how to do it, so you can claim your profile regardless of your development level, so anyone can do it.
Remember, that with any subscription, you can ask us for help during the process, if needed, via our contact formulary in our contact page, and we will guide you through the process.
Subscription
First of all, in order to claim a profile, you’ll need to have an active subscription.
Any subscription includes access to profile claiming. The amount of profiles that can be claimed depends on your specific plan.
Only the advanced and enterprise plans support multiple profiles per account.
You can check all our available plans in our pricing page.
Claiming a profile
In order to start claiming the profile, you need to go first to your dashboard, and then to Domains.
Then you have to click on claim domain.

Before you start, make sure that the Trusted Humans bot can access your site. You can see more in our bot info guide.
Domain
The first verification step is the domain. For that, you would need to write the domain that you’re trying to claim.

Note that you only need to type the domain here, the protocol (https:// is not needed, only the specific domain).
Also notice that you’re claiming the specific subdomain. For example, by typing example.com, the domain blog.domain.com won’t be included, as it will be considered a different domain.
DNS Verification
Next you need to add the Trusted Humans TXT DNS record to the domain that you’re claiming.

Your value will change given your user, make sure you copy the correct value. You can click the button on the right to copy the value directly, to prevent missing any character.
Next you need to add it to the DNS records. This will depend on your provider, here you can find some guides for the most common ones:
If you’re in doubt, you’ll need to contact your domain administrator, or we can also help you if needed.
Confirmation
Once the DNS record has been confirmed, you’re ready to finish the claiming process.

All you need to do here is simply click the finish claiming domain button. Please note that until you do that, the claiming process hasn’t finished. You need to press that button to finish the process.
Profile Claimed
Congratulations! Your profile has been claimed.
Please notice that a complete sitemap scan will be triggered automatically to perform the first complete profile scan.
Now let’s get hands on to edit your profile, so you can make it look more appealing inside the platform.
Profile customization
Now it’s time to personalize your profile to make it match your company.
First, let’s click on the edit profile button.

The edit profile is composed of different tabs that we’re going to explain in the following sections.
Basic Information
This is the section where you can modify the public information displayed in your profile.

Name: The public displayed name of your company.
Category: The best-fitting category for your company. We strongly recommend you to put the most specific category, as this will help you get more targeted views.
Contact Email: The email address where people can contact you if needed.
Contact Phone: The phone number where you can be contacted on, if applicable. You must include the country prefix.
Location: The country where your company is located.
Description: A short description about what your company does, or which services offer.
Logo: The logo of your company. This should follow certain guidelines, that we’re going to explain in the following section.
Logo guidelines
Our platform displays logos in certain components, so we have some guidelines that when followed ensures a proper display.
It’s going to be best to have a squared logo (aspect ratio 1:1), and with a colored background.
Skip using transparent backgrounds whenever it's possible.
We strongly advise to use SVGs, as they’ll display the best no matter the placement or size.
The file size must be under 1MB. So SVGs will work the best for this.
The field has an included editor, so you can perform some basic adjustments there.
Scans
This section allows you to configure how the scans are performed.

Sitemap URL (Advanced only)
Here you can define the Sitemap URL where the URLs to scan will be fetched. This only affects scheduled scans.
By defining a custom URL, you can ensure that only certain URLs are obtained. These can be for a different range of reasons, that’s up to you.
We strongly recommend you to put the normal sitemap that you have for your website, but nothing prevents you from making a custom one only for Trusted Humans.
Please notice that only the URLs from your claimed domain will be fetched.
Scan Frequency (Pro & Advanced only)
You can customize the frequency that our automated scans are performed by modifying this setting.
By default, we do it every 2 weeks.
We only recommend daily and every 3 days for small websites, or pages with extremely volatile content, as otherwise it’ll burn the amount of credits, and the content probably didn’t update during that time.
Similarly, monthly it’s a bit too much time, we only recommend that option if the scan is going to consume most of your credits and you would like to get all the content at once. The problem is that during a complete month your content will be stale unless the Trusted Humans users perform a specific page scan, and this can affect your results.
Our recommendation is to keep it between weekly and every 2 weeks, given your website content.
Max Pages per scan
This setting allows you to configure how many pages are fetched per every automatic scan.
The maximum value varies given your plan.
We strongly recommend you or let this value set at the maximum value to allow our scanner to obtain the best result, otherwise results might be inconsistent.
This setting overrides the number of URLs found in the sitemap, if it’s more than this parameter, they’ll be omitted.
Notice: If the sitemap contains more URLs than this parameter, an alert will be displayed both on the scan result page, and on the profile page until a new automatic scan is performed, and it’s not cropped by this parameter. The only way to remove this alert is by setting this parameter to a bigger number, or providing a custom sitemap that has less URLs than this parameter maximum value.
You can increase the maximum number by upgrading your plan.
Checks (Pro & Advanced only)
Here you can configure the checks that are displayed in your profile. Each of them represents a different aspect that your company is strictly following.

You should enable (check) only the ones that you’re completely sure that your company is following, feel free to contact us if you have questions regarding any of them.
It’s important that you only check those that your company follows, as we reserve the right to untoggle them if we notice that any of these are not true, and in extreme cases, to disable your account.
Ethical AI usage
This check states that if your company uses any kind of AI, you use it in an ethical way, which means that you focus on helping you, in a normal condition, not requesting things that are unethical.
For example:
It might help you write a blog, not write it completely for you.
It can help you choose a job candidate, but not perform a fully automated hiring.
You can use an AI bot helping in customer support, but not use it undisclosed pretending to be a human.
It can be used to help your company promote a product/service, but not with the intention of exploiting dark-patterns (exploit addiction, anxiety, financial stress, etc).
It can be used to help understand a user persona, but not re-identifying anonymized data, or sharing customer data.
It can help you obtain facts, but these cannot be used directly in legal, safety, or financial context without previous verification.
If these examples sound logical to you, your company probably can toggle this check, but if you’re doubting, please contact us via our contact page to prevent any kind of problem.
Human workers not replaced
By toggling this check, you claim that AI hasn’t taken any job from a human inside your company.
If for some reason, a job has been replaced by AI, the person that was previously performing that job, has been repositioned into a position where it’s comfortable at. It doesn’t apply if the person now is performing a job that doesn’t like.
This condition also applies to cases where AI has been introduced forcefully into the company, and a person resigns because of that. For example, AI imagery has been introduced to the company as the workflow for pictures, and a graphic designer/photographer resigns because of that. If that’s the case, you cannot toggle this check until that’s fixed.
Data privacy compliant
Currently most of the AI platforms online perform training on the processed data, unless explicitly toggled off (If possible, some other companies don't allow you to toggle that option).
This by itself is not a problem, you can put your company data if you like, there’s no issue with that, the issue would be that customer data reaches that.
If a customer doesn’t want to have its data being used for training of an AI model, it should have its right to not allow that. That’s why some places like the European Union are introducing rules about this.
Our take is easy, no customer data should reach an AI model in any way unless it’s completely anonymised, so no way of traceback is possible.
If you use anonymised data, or don’t send customer data at all, then you can have this check toggled on.
Transparent operations
This check states that anywhere where AI is used, it’s being disclosed clearly (therefore transparently).
For example, if you use a chatbot that it’s AI automated, then it must say somehow that an AI is behind that conversation/message.
If you try to hide that AI usage, then you cannot toggle on this check.
Environmental sustainability
AI electricity usage is quite high, for example in 2025 it consumed approximately the same electricity as the whole city of New York.
Additionally, AI models are usually hosted in data centers, which consume quite substantial natural resources like water, apart from the electricity.
That’s why this check is here, if you use AI somehow, you should be compensating for that carbon footprint somehow. If you do so, and only then, you can toggle on this check.
Sections (Advanced only)
This section allows you to toggle on or off certain parts of your profile. This can only be done by advanced users, as it might result in incomplete profiles if multiple parts are hidden.

Our recommendation is to leave everything off, as it’ll result in a more complete and fair profile. But, if your company needs to toggle any of them on, you can as well.
Timeline section
When toggled on, your timeline will be hidden from the users.
This can be done for a different range of reasons, that will depend on you and your company why you would like to do that, but the option is there.
This will be toggled on most probably because the timeline doesn’t look attractive, maybe you were using AI and now you no longer do it, so you would like to “clear your image”. If that’s the case, we offer a better option, as we understand that you are working towards improving your human score. See the following section for advanced settings to see more about the data from date parameter.
Similar companies section
We consider it healthy for your profile to have the similar companies displayed, as it can showcase that your company is a nice fit for your audience.
If you would like to hide it for any given reason, you can just toggle this on, and you’ll hide the similar companies section from your profile.
Advanced settings (Advanced only)
For advanced subscriptions, we offer the option to configure certain features that can fit your profile.

These are really advanced features that shouldn’t be modified unless you’re really sure of what you’re doing, as they can break the trust of your customers if abused. Use them with caution.
Work in progress
This option allows you to enable the work in progress mode for your profile. While this mode is enabled, most of the features are disabled.
This mode is designed for companies that have noticed that their AI usage was too high, and therefore their human percentage was too low; and they want to improve that, or that they’ll go under significant changes, where their actual score wouldn’t make sense anymore.
Working on that human score takes time, we understand it. That’s why this mode exists, to make sure that you can work on this, while showcasing your audience that you care about.
While having this option on, your score will be hidden, and your badge will show a generic trusted human one, this way you can communicate to your audience that you’re working on it.
This will prevent customers from performing any new scan of your site until you’re out of the work in progress mode, and your profile will be hidden from the platform search/explore section, and recommendations; until toggled off.
This setting can be used in combination with the following one, to make a clear display of your new focused company.
Show data from date
By setting this to a specific date and time, all previous scans will be marked as obsolete, preventing users from opening them anymore, and your profile won’t be using any data from before that datetime.
This means that your results are completely reset while set to a specific datetime.
This setting works specially well with the work in progress one, as once you’ve finished working on your new content/site, and you will disable the work in progress check, you can set the date in this field to the current date and time, and all previous records will be hidden, allowing you to have a fresh start.
You’ve compromised to make your content more human by toggling the work in progress check, so we want to give you the option to make a fresh start, you’re doing a great job, and we’re glad about it.
If you prefer to showcase that you were previously using AI, and now you no longer do, that’s even better in our opinion! You show your users that now you’re a more human focused company that you were “yesterday”, and that’s amazing.
Profile badges (Pro & advanced only)
Now that you’ve configured your profile, it’s time to insert your badge into your website.
In order to do so, we’ve created a guide that will help you do so regardless of your technical level.
Check our guide on how to add your bade to your site.
